Hints and Tips

Using Help Them Read

To maximise the learning from our system, we would recommend that where possible the following guidelines should be adopted.

  • A maximum of 20 minutes per day should be spent on the learning process. Where set work is completed it can be continued the next day.
  • A daily routine, 5 or 6 days per week is recommended. It is best if the routine can be maintained during holiday periods.
  • The learning period should be set aside as a private time, with no distractions or interruptions, if at all possible. Try and ensure that the same place is used each day. Follow the instructions closely, for each exercise – avoid the temptation to take short cuts!
  • Whilst the greatest reward will be the achievement to read, do give yourself and the learner permission to celebrate when you both feel that something significant has been achieved!
